Colorado Wildlife Officers Build Snug Den for Orphaned Bear Cubs

Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers have built a cozy den for five orphaned bear cubs in the hope that they will learn to hibernate and survive in the wild.

The cubs, which had been at the Wet Mountain Wildlife Rehab in Wetmore, Colorado, for the past six months, were placed in their new home near Pikes Peak on Wednesday, January 27.

Wildlife officers said the cubs, which weigh between 90 and 120 pounds, fattened up and learned to fear humans at the rehabilitation center in Wetmore.
