Eating 40 McNuggets sounds like a difficult, if tempting, challenge. However, cover them with something described as “nuclear fire” sauce and all of a sudden it becomes less palatable.

That was the challenge for Auckland-based competitive eater and model Nela Zisser in a video posted to her YouTube channel on November 30.

With no water, and a promise to lick her plate which she later regrets, Zisser enthusiastically takes on the challenge in the footage, finishing in eight minutes and 24 seconds.

“That’s probably the worst spicy challenge I’ve done,” Zisser says after finishing the plate, later going on to show viewers a close-up of her lips which are in no small amount of pain.

Zisser can often be found making her way through outrageous food challenges.

Her YouTube account chronicles such food feats as wolfing down 10 Burger King Whoppers in 17 minutes, devouring a 1-kg burrito in just under 100 seconds, and consuming a 2.2-pound jar of Nutella in under four minutes. Credit: Nela Zisser via Storyful
