Residents of Binche, British Columbia, joined forces on April 2 to rescue a moose trapped on a slippery frozen lake.

According to reports, Binche resident Ross Duncan said local residents first noticed the moose struggling to get off Stuart Lake in late March.

Duncan said residents made several attempts to move the moose off the ice before they successfully hooked two ropes around the stranded animal and dragged her toward the shore with an all-terrain vehicle. She then ambled off into the bush, local media reported.

Speaking to the Vancouver Sun, Duncan said residents believe wolves chased the moose onto the ice, where she became stranded on the slick surface. Credit: Ross Duncan via Storyful
