Protesters marched from Federation Square to Parliament House in Melbourne, Australia, on Thursday, September 29, in support of protesters taking to the streets of Iran.

According to 9News Melbourne, organizers expected around 1,000 people to turn out for the march, and many people in attendance were Iranian nationals concerned about their friends and family in the country.

The death in police custody of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish woman, ignited almost two weeks of consecutive nightly protests in Iran, and multiple solidarity protests abroad. Iran Human Rights, a Norway-based rights group, estimated on September 26 that at least 76 protesters have been killed in Iran since the unrest began on September 16. Credit: ben_kurd93 via Storyful
