Queensland’s state emergency services received more than 400 requests for help in 24 hours as severe flooding gripped towns in the state’s southeast on December 1.

Residents were asked to evacuate the town of Inglewood on Tuesday night as major flooding hit the Macintyre Brook catchment area. The weather bureau expected more flooding, with the Macintyre River at Goondiwindi expected to peak near 10.70 metres on Friday.
