A family dog scared off an inquisitive bear snooping through the kitchen of an upstate New York home on May 22.

Stephanie Behrens’s security camera captured this video of her pup, Harper, spooking the bear from their Chatham home.

The video shows the bear peaking through a partially opened door before slowly making its way into the house. The animal sniffs around the kitchen before Harper runs toward it, prompting the bear to scurry out of the house. Behrens then closes the door.
