Fireworks were let off from the crowd in Nantes, France, on the evening of Tuesday, March 21, amid ongoing pension reform protests ahead of an address to the nation by President Emmanuel Macron.

Footage from Twitter user @chapodepaille1 shows crowds gathered in central Nantes as fireworks are launched into the air.

Nantes Mayor Johanna Roland condemned the events of Tuesday night, saying that the protests against pension reforms should focus on the peaceful mobilization of unions.
