Multiple wildfires were burning in Quebec, Canada, on Tuesday, June 6, satellite images by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) showed.

There were at least 149 fires affecting the province, fire officials said. Evacuation orders were issued for multiple communities in the more rural parts of the province, affecting thousands of people, according to local reports.

The smoke from these wildfires blew into the northeastern US, affecting air quality across multiple states on Wednesday.
