Heavy rain caused flash flooding in parts of Cornwall, England, on Monday August 15, as official warnings for rain and thunderstorms were issued for much of the country with localized flooding and travel disruption expected.

The Met Office issued an amber thunderstorm warning for Cornwall on Monday as videos on social media showed flooding in the area.

Footage posted to Twitter by user Oliver Dobbs shows a flooded roundabout in Truro, Cornwall, as cars and buses attempt to drive through the flood water.

The stormy weather came after Britain faced its highest temperatures on record last month. A lack of rain has caused hosepipe bans in parts of England.
