Several roads remained closed and some residents were evacuated in County Cork, Ireland, as flooding continued across the region on Thursday, August 14.

The N71 at Rosscarbery and Connonagh and the R597 between Rosscarbery and Glandore were closed after thunderstorms brought heavy rain to the area, local media reported.

A number of residents at an elderly people’s home were evacuated due to the flooding, reports said.
