Thunderstorms swept east across Louisiana and southern Mississippi overnight into Thursday, April 15, bringing torrential rain and hail, and causing flash flooding in several areas.

This footage from Steven Bitter, a resident of Nicholson, Mississippi, located just south of Picayune, shows homes on Caroline Street surrounded by floodwater. “Welcome to Lake Nicholson, Mississippi,” Bitter joked on Twitter.
