Residents of Monroe County, Florida – which includes the Florida Keys – moved their vehicles to higher ground on Tuesday, September 27, in preparation for potential storm surges produced by Hurricane Ian, which is forecasted to impact Florida today.

During a press briefing on September 27, Florida Gov Ron DeSantis said the state would see "historic storm surge and flooding potential” from the hurricane. DeSantis declared a state of emergency on September 24 in response to the hurricane forecast.
