Police in Lilburn, Georgia, released bodycam footage on October 21 showing the January police stop in which officers pulled over ‘Borat’ for attaching his ‘daughter’ on the roof of his truck.

The stunt was filmed for Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,’ which was released on October 23 as a follow-up to his 2006 comedy ‘Borat’. The movie follows Borat as he returns to the US to curry favor with President Trump by attempting to gift his 15-year-old daughter, Tutar (played by Maria Bakalova), to Vice President Mike Pence.

Video shared by the Lilburn Police Department shows Cohen, acting as Borat, responding to two officers as they quiz him as to why his ‘daughter’ is strapped to the roof his truck. The officers, Alvey Lamb and Daniel Bride, catch onto the prank and decide to play along.

The footage shows Officer Lamb questioning ‘Borat,’ who produces a certificate he says proves his daughter is one of his “properties.” In another part of the video, Borat argues, “Officer, I followed the law, I did not feed her an onion.”

The footage shows Officer Bride speaking to a bystander, and tells him, “I’m guessing someone is around here with a camera filming because the dude sitting in the truck looks like Borat.”

The police report that was filed after the stop read: “Driver is dressed as Borat and claiming to be from Uzbekistan….Female sitting on top of vehicle did not speak, appears to be some sort of prank or hidden camera show.” Credit: Lilburn Police Department via Storyful
