Evacuations were ordered on Tuesday, August 11, and Interstate 70 was shut down for the second day in Glenwood Canyon, Colorado, as the Grizzly Creek Fire burned more than 1,800 acres.

According to reports, the blaze was located in Garfield Canyon, four miles east of Glenwood Springs, and Interstate 70 was shuttered for a 30-mile stretch between Glenwood Springs and Gypsum. Evacuation orders were issued for the Colorado town of No Name.

Because of the mountainous terrain where the fire was burning, firefighters used aerial attacks to try to combat the blaze. The cause of the fire was still under investigation as of Tuesday evening. Credit: Garfield County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
