Strong hail pelted Sunbury, a suburb of Melbourne, on December 1, as slow-moving storms rolled across parts of Victoria.

The Bureau of Meteorology for Victoria had warned of damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain in multiple areas, including Melbourne, which was hit by flooding.

The Herald Sun said 5,000 people lost power and two flights were diverted from Melbourne Airport, where wind gusts of 106 km/h (65 mph) were recorded.

On Wednesday evening, the weather service said thunderstorms had eased off and canceled its warning, adding that “showers and non-severe storms may still contribute to localised flooding.” Credit: Tracy Coleman via Storyful
