Heavy Rain in Washington State Causes Flooding Along Snoqualmie River

Heavy rain caused widespread flooding along the Snoqualmie River in Washington on October 22, local media reported.

In a video shared on Twitter by Sol to Seed, an organic produce farm in Carnation, debris can be seen moving down the river as foliage along the banks was almost submerged by the high water level. In a second video, taken on the Sol to Seed farm, land where crops are grown is seen completely submerged by the flooding.

The National Weather Service said a flood warning remained in place for areas along the Snoqualmie River on October 22 and it warned residents not to drive through flooded areas. “This is the cause of most flood related deaths in Washington,” it added.

Local journalists in the area noted that the flooding had increased the water pressure at Snoqualmie Falls, which soaked visitors in a mist. Credit: @soltoseedfarm via Storyful
