Humpback Whales Pop Out of Water to Delight of Watchers Off Irish Coast

Humpback whales greeted a group of whale watchers off the southern Irish coast on May 17.

Video by Derek McGreevy shows one of the whales popping its head out of the water, to the delight of his group.

Cork Whale Watch, which was running the expedition, said on Facebook that the two whales “stayed for almost an hour thoroughly inspecting the boat from every angle.” Credit: Derek McGreevy via Storyful
