Indian Air Force Winches Locals to Safety in Flood-Hit Uttar Pradesh

Indian Air Force helicopters airlifted 21 people, including 12 women, three men and six children, who they said were stranded by flooding near Pilibhit in India’s Uttar Pradesh on October 20.

Several villages were evacuated, with people moved to relief camps, as authorities advised residents to stay at least 50 meters away from rivers, the Times of India reported.
