Lava Flow Moves Towards La Palma Suburbs Amid Further Volcanic Activity

New eruptions from the Cumbre Vieja volcano on Saturday, October 16, prompted further evacuations, as lava flow advanced toward Tacande, a suburban region in the south of the Canary Island La Palma.

This footage was posted by the Canary Islands Volcanological Institute (INVOLCAN), who said it shows lava flow advancing toward the Tacande region.

According to local media, the flow of lava is progressing faster than expected as residents in La Laguna left their homes on October 16.
