The Six Rivers Lightning Complex fires were at zero percent containment and had burned almost 7,000 acres (11 square miles) by Monday, August 8, in the Willow Creek area of Northern California according to the US Forest Service.

A series of 12 lightning-caused fires were identified on Friday in Six Rivers National Forest after thunderstorms in the area according to official reports.

The fires caused evacuations in Humboldt County.
