Large lightning bolts flashed in the sky near Lexington, Kentucky, on the evening of Tuesday, August 9.

Footage recorded by Danny Pendleton shows bright lightning bolts branching out across the sky at around 9:30 local time.

Pendleton wrote: “Amazing! The energy in these lightning bolts.”
