Man Rides Hydrofoil Surfboard Through Thick Smoke in British Columbia

A man was filmed riding a hydrofoil surfboard through thick smoke hovering over Schuswap Lake near the southeast British Columbia town of Sicamous on July 30.

The area was shrouded in smoke due to the Two Mile Road fire burning south of the town. Local officials said on July 31 the blaze was estimated to have burned through over 1200 hectares (2965 acres).

“There is no structure loss or immediate threats, although the fire has crossed over Sicamous Creek and there is significant growth to the northeast,” they said.
