Three motorcyclists who allegedly recorded themselves reaching speeds of approximately 200 km/h (124 mph) on small roads in Queensland, Australia, have been charged and fined, local police said.

Queensland Police and Queensland Highway Patrol carried out an investigation after a video of the drive through the towns of Peachester and Bellthorpe in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland was posted to social media. The footage shows a speedometer on a motorcycle hitting a speed of up to 200 km/h. Police said the speeds were up to 192 km/h.

Police said a 45-year-old man from Parreara, a 49-year-old man from Mooloolaba, and a 46-year-old man from Birtinya took part in the trip on July 8.

Sunshine Coast Highway Patrol executed a warrant at the 45-year-old’s address on July 8 and seized a GoPro camera, which police will argue was used to make the recording.

The 45-year-old and 46-year-old will appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on August 22.

The 49-year-old has been issued with three traffic infringement notices, including more than $2,000 AUD in fines. Credit: Queensland Police via Storyful
