Number of Injured Rises After Cherkasy Hotel Damaged in Russian Missile Attack

The number of people injured by Russian missile debris that hit a Cherkasy hotel overnight rose to 10, with rescue crews still on the scene, Ukrainian media reported on Thursday, September 21.

Earlier, the State Emergency Service (DSNS) said at least one man had been pulled alive from the rubble when the Central Hotel outside the city’s main market partially collapsed.

Suspilne News reported that 10 people were confirmed wounded, citing the head of the Cherkasy emergency service, Ihor Fasen.

Russian Tu-95MS bombers flying from Engels airbase launched 43 Kh-101 cruise missiles at Ukraine in multiple waves overnight, the head of the Ukrainian armed forces said. Air defense systems shot down 36, and injuries and damage were reported in the capital Kyiv, the western Lviv region, and other oblasts throughout the country.

Separately, the Kharkiv border region was hit with Russian S-300 missiles around 6 am on Thursday, the armed forces chief said.
