A storm hit Sydney, New South Wales, and surrounding areas on the evening of December 1, with meteorologists warning of damaging winds.

The storm came after a day of hot weather in New South Wales, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. Power cuts and disruptions to train travel were reported.
