Sequoia National Forest's Windy Fire Grows to Over 133 Square Miles

The Windy Fire grew to 85,383 acres (over 133 square miles) on September 27 in Tulare County, California, according to official reports.

The fire, burning in the Tule River Indian Reservation and the Sequoia National Forest, was at 2 percent containment as of September 27. Officials said the fire perimeter grew 7,000 acres in the last 24 hours, and was threatening 2,000 residences and 100 commercial structures.
