Howard County Police Chief Lisa Myers joined a protest over the deaths of George Floyd and Tony McDade on Tuesday afternoon, June 2.

The demonstration was organized by HoCo for Justice, a youth collective that condemns white supremacy, in Columbia, Maryland, local media reported.

Police Chief Lisa Myers joined the demonstrators and held a sign that read, ‘Silence is complicity.’

“We stand with our community to condemn the disturbing acts that led to this terrible tragedy,” Myers said, according to a police Facebook post. “These types of incidents embarrass our profession. We remain absolutely committed to respecting and protecting ALL of the people we serve in Howard County.” Credit: Howard County Police Department via Storyful
