A snow monkey at the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley took advantage of snowy buildup on January 19 to roll up a snowball

“Have you built any snowmen this year? It looks like the snow monkeys are starting one today,” wrote zoo officials as they tweeted the clip on January 19.

Snow monkeys are highly social, semi-terrestrial primates native to three of Japan’s four main islands that live “farther north than any other non-human primate,” according to the Minnesota Zoo. Their ability to live in cool climates is bolstered by their fur, which grows thicker as temperatures drop, the zoo wrote. Credit: Minnesota Zoo via Storyful
