Members of a 200-strong group of South African firefighters broke into song and dance after landing at Edmonton International Airport in Alberta, Canada, on Sunday, June 4, to help local crews battle ongoing wildfires in the region.

Footage released by the airport’s management shows firefighters in matching yellow jackets and carrying South Africa flags as they arrived.

The firefighters belong to the Working on Fire crew, part of South Africa’s Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, local news reported. The crew will be deployed in Alberta for 35 days, reports said.

There were still 71 wildfires burning in Alberta, many of which were considered to be “out of control,” as of Friday, June 9, local fire officials said.

On Friday, Working on Fire said it would be sending an additional 200 firefighters and 13 managers to Alberta the following week. Credit: Edmonton International Airport (YEG) via Storyful
