The first patient to be admitted to Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center with a confirmed case of the coronavirus, COVID-19, was discharged on March 31 — a cause for staff to celebrate.

“Yesterday evening our staff gathered in the hospital lobby to celebrate our first COVID-19 positive inpatient, Mr. Eric Bryant of Spotsylvania County, being discharged from the hospital,” the hospital wrote on Facebook. “Mr. Bryant and his family have become a part of the #spotsrmccommunity during their stay with us, and although he will be missed we are excited for this next step in his recovery.”
