Storms Bring Heavy Rain and 'Strong, Damaging Winds' to New York City

Strong, damaging winds and heavy rain was forecast in New York City on November 30, with wind advisories issued for Queens and Brooklyn.

The National Weather Service warned that Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn and southern Connecticut would receive the most severe wind as the severe weather swept through the region. Peak winds were forecast at 25 to 35 mph, with gusts of 45 to 55 mph.
