Severe storms prompted a tornado warning for Philadelphia and parts of the surrounding suburbs on June 3 after a rare derecho hit the region, according to local news reports.

In Montgomery County, falling trees led to the deaths of three people, according to NBC Philadelphia, with “hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses” in the region left without power.
