A missing dog has been reunited with her family after a trooper crawled into a culvert in Conklin, New York, to help rescue the trapped animal on Sunday, June 26.

According to the New York State Police, the 13-year-old dog, named Lilah, had been missing for four days when Trooper Jimmy Rasaphone came to the rescue.

This bodycam footage posted to YouTube shows Trooper Rasaphone climbing out and allowing the dog’s owner, Rudy Fuehrer, to coax her out of the end of the culvert.

According to local news reports, Rasaphone had to crawl 15 feet into the pipe to put a leash on Lilah.

“He crouched down and literally disappeared into the hole with a lead that had a choker on it,” Fuehrer told local news.
