Turkish flags flew and car horns blared along Berlin’s Tauentzienstraße on May 28, as the large local Turkish community celebrated President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s defeat of challenger Kemal Kilicdaroglu to win another term in office.

Results showed Erdogan won 52.1 percent of the vote to Kilicdaroglu’s 47.9 percent.
