A car chase ensued after two drivers were seen speeding at more than 150 mph near Cumming, Georgia, dashcam footage released by Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office on September 29 shows.

The footage, which was captured at approximately 10:30 pm on September 24, shows two vehicles speeding past the patrol car on Highway 400, prompting the sheriff’s deputy to give chase.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said that the vehicles were initially clocked at 100 mph, but then increased their speed to more than 150 mph.

One of the cars exited the highway, but the other driver continued until stopped by the deputy on Pilgrim Mill Road. The deputy can be heard telling the driver, “Put your hands up” and “Get out of the car” as he finally pulls over.

According to the sheriff’s office, the driver, 27-year-old Tejas Desai, said that since he was already driving at 140 mph there was no reason for him to stop after going that fast.

Desai was arrested for Reckless Driving and Felony Fleeing. The same car had been seen driving at 178 mph the previous night, the sheriff’s office said. Credit: Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
