American military personnel loaded baby formula onto an aircraft at Ramstein Air Base in Germany on May 25, as the military continued its support of “Operation Fly Formula” following its announcement last week.
The operation, which saw around 39 tons of formula shipped on a May 23 flight from Ramstein, is part of the White House’s efforts to stanch a domestic formula supply shortage. Alongside the importation plan, the White House also involved the Defense Production Act to prioritize the manufacturing of baby formula in the US.
