A young Irish teen played a special rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner while visiting the Gap of Dunloe in Co Kerry.

Footage by Miriam Hughes shows her 14-year-old son Alex playing the US national anthem against the scenic backdrop while they were on vacation last year. She tweeted the video on July 4 in honor of Independence Day.

Hughes, who lives in Newbridge, Co Kildare, told Storyful that Alex has been playing the bagpipes since he was nine.

She said that he has performed at US Marine balls in Dublin, as well as at July Fourth events for US ambassadors in Ireland. Credit: Miriam Hughes via Storyful
