Over 300,000 families lost power in the Dominican Republic, local news reported on August 12, as Tropical Depression Fred struck the country.

Listin Diario said operations were forced to cease at two airports, with 26 aqueduct systems out of service due to the weather conditions.

The entire country remained under alert on August 12, with Santo Domingo one of the areas with a lingering status red warning.
