Student on DJS monitoring arrested in Columbia homicide

Howard County police arrested a 17-year-old boy Tuesday in connection with a homicide in Columbia. County police said officers on patrol on Oct. 12 found a man fatally shot in a vehicle in the 8800 block of Centre Park Drive in Columbia. Police identified the man as Kendrick McLellan, 26, of Baltimore. Police said investigators determined that the shooting took place around 5 p.m. on Oct. 9 where McLellan's body was found. P0lice announced Tuesday that an Ellicott City teenager is being charged as an adult with first-degree murder and related offenses. He was arrested at Howard High School, where he is a student, with a loaded gun in his backpack, police said.
