Alpine Unveil Stunning But Sustainable New Concept Alpenglow Supercar

1 年前
French supercar and motorsports firm Alpine have revealed their striking new concept, the Alpenglow a hydrogen-powered racer inspired by the firm's involvement in top-flight motorsport such as the Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship. The single-seat car will be, "the starting point for all future Alpine car designs, technologies and breakthroughs". The Alpenglow is fuelled by hydrogen in an electrically assisted internal combustion engine, rather than a fuel cell arrangement. The choice of colours for the new car echoes fire, water, ice, wind, and water vapour - with dark blues and reds used. The Alpenglow concept car’s shape optimises air flow and thereby increases aerodynamic performance. Despite being more than five metres long, over two metres wide and less than one metre high it is exceedingly agile. In the interest of sustainable development, recycled carbon was also used in this concept car’s design. Alpine hope the Alpenglow will open the door to new sustainable approaches to automotive and motorsports excellence, including hydrogen power which could provide a way for high-octane motorsports to enter a new era of zero carbon emissions.
