The footage showed residents looking down from their windows as water kept spreading rapidly after the Morges river, which flows into Lake Geneva, overflowed and inundated parts of the city center according to eyewitnesses.
Reuters was able to confirm the location of the video from characteristics of nearby buildings, a small bridge, road layout and an underpass seen in the video matched file and satellite imagery of the area. Reuters was also able to confirm the date of the videos from the original file metadata.
