A 15-year-old boy was killed as Israeli security forces raided parts of Tulkarm and the neighboring Nur Shams refugee camp in the West Bank overnight into Saturday, April 20, according to Palestinian health officials and rescue workers.

WAFA news agency, which is operated by the Fatah-controlled Palestinian National Authority, said the teen was one of at least two people killed during the raids. Another 11 people were injured, including seven by live fire, WAFA reported.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said IDF soldiers and border police officers had killed 10 militants, arrested either people, and uncovered explosives and weapons over a 40-hour-long operation that began on Thursday. Eight IDF soldiers and one border officer were injured during the raids, the IDF said.

Footage shot on Friday by local journalist Hisham Abu Shaqrah shows Israel vehicles and ambulances moving in Tulkarm, at least nine Palestinians being forced into an IDF vehicle under heavy guard, and a soldier appearing to point a weapon in Shaqrah’s direction.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) on Friday said one of its volunteers was shot and injured in Nur Shams, but said Israeli forces had blocked its ambulances from reaching the camp. Credit: Hisham Abu Shaqrah via Storyful
