Thousands of Colombian teachers pressure Congress against education bill

More than 22,000 state school teachers took to the streets of Bogota on Monday, urging Congress to not approve a government-initiated bill proposing changes to the education system. The teachers oppose, among other things, reforms in the financing of education, which, according to them, would grant public funds to private educational institutions. They also oppose changing the evaluation of their abilities by including as a criterion the results obtained by students in state tests. (AP video shot by Marko Alvarez)
