Lightning lit up the sky over Lake Michigan on Sunday evening, May 27, as high winds and hail were forecast for the area.

Timelapse footage recorded by Nathan Voytovick shows what he called, “One of the craziest lightning displays I’ve seen in a long time.”

The footage condenses half an hour of lightning strikes down to 30 seconds.
