Businesses and tourists are eager for the Eiffel Tower’s reopening

Visitor numbers will be limited to 10,000 a day

and only half of the usual numbers will be allowed in the lifts

"Definitely, we have been looking forward to visit Paris and see the Eiffel Tower. I've been here four or five times in my life, and to show my daughter the Eiffel Tower is a big thing."

(SOUNDBITE) (English) TOURIST FROM PAKISTAN, RIZWAN JAMIL, SAYING:

"Yes, we will come here tomorrow if it is open. It will be very nice to see the Eiffel Tower very close."

The iconic landmark was closed in October 2020

It receives 7 million visitors each year during normal times
