Floodwaters Rush Over Eastern Tennessee Roadways After Heavy Rain

Roadways in eastern Tennessee were “impassable” after more than an inch of rain fell in the area on Wednesday, August 10.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the area on Wednesday as about 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) of rain fell in Johnson City.

The West Carter County Volunteer Fire Department posted footage of the flooding in Johnson City on Wednesday, saying roadways were “impassable.”
