Louisiana residents surveyed the damage left by Hurricane Ida, which made landfall August 29 as a Category 4 storm, packing maximum sustained winds of 145 mph, the National Hurricane Center reported.

Brandon Adams posted video to Facebook showing damage in Houma, the largest city of Terrebonne Parish. He said he was driving to nearby Lafayette on Monday morning to look for gas.

“Houma looks like a war zone, but my family is all safe,” he wrote in the caption. “Running off of generators. Gas is basically impossible to find.”
