Yahoo TV Man Arrested After Scaling Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel Claiming to Have Bomb

A man was taken into custody after climbing the Santa Monica Pier Ferris wheel on Monday, October 9, and falsely claiming to be carrying a bomb, police said.
The Ferris wheel and Pacific Park were evacuated for several hours because of the incident, local media reports.
The Santa Monica Police Department warned the public to avoid the area and that its Crisis Negotiations unit was on the scene.
They later said the man was taken into custody, “and no bomb or incendiary device was located.”
