Heavy, persistent rain from storm Ian caused flooding in parts of Orlando on Thursday, September 29.

The storm was dropping “torrential” rain on the area as it moved east, local reports said. Ian made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane Wednesday afternoon on Florida’s southwest side.

President Biden announced a major disaster declaration in response to the damage suffered across Florida.
