Smoke from hundreds of Canadian wildfires prompted air-quality alerts across upstate New York on Tuesday, June 6, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Footage captured by Twitter user @jodispayne70 shows hazy conditions in Rochester on Tuesday afternoon. “It smells like a campfire, really horrible,” they told Storyful, “but it makes for amazing sunrises and sunsets,” they added.
